An Important Announcement

And a big thank you...

I am writing to share an important update regarding Words Along the Way. This week, my Substack page will become entirely free for all readers.

What this means for you:

• Free Subscribers: You do not need to do anything. You will continue to receive my posts directly in your inbox just like before.

• Paid Subscribers: Your paid subscription will be officially cancelled. Substack will automatically issue you a prorated refund for the remaining time left on your monthly or annual billing cycle. You should see this refund in your bank account within the next few days.

Why I am making this change:
Writing is my steadfast companion, my passion, my comfort, my medicine, my joy. Yet, the midlife Camino has been a winding one for me, stormy at times, and navigating this huge life shift has been overwhelming. I tend to freeze in the face of overwhelm and I have not been writing here as much as I’d intended or as much as I want to, so I’ve decided to take some pressure off. My hope is that this will bring me to Substack to share more often and more freely, and that removing the paid tier will make my writing more accessible to new readers.

This is step one of a strategy to streamline my offerings (which I have realised were too ample – ideas flow and I get excited!) For now, I’ll keep going with my Spirit Sisters podcast and writing my first novel. I plan to begin to share more here about the fiction process (it’s been surprising, as I work with my own app). I’ll also continue publishing my poems and excerpts from my journals and books on Substack.

In the meantime, I am sincerely grateful to everyone who has financially supported Words Along the Way. Your contributions have been invaluable and helped me grow this space. I am excited to continue this writing journey with all of you.
